Founded in 1967, La Guilde is a recognized public-benefit, non-denominational, and nonpartisan NGO. It supports international solidarity initiatives and hundreds of development projects worldwide. Accredited by the French government, La Guilde manages two volunteer programs: International Solidarity Volunteering (VSI) and Civic Service Volunteering (VSC). Today, it is France's leading organization for sending volunteers abroad, with more than 900 international volunteers serving in 83 countries.
As a member of France Voluntaries, La Guilde also develops innovative volunteer programs focused on forest conservation in the Congo Basin and the Amazon, decentralized cooperation, and the Francophone world.

La Guilde has its own digital platform dedicated to volunteering, designed to support volunteers and host organizations at every stage of the mission.
Serving as both an information hub and a management tool, it centralizes all procedures and facilitates monitoring of the relationship between all parties. Volunteers can find essential information for their commitment and upload and view their documents, while organizations benefit from clear and structured tracking.
Developed specifically for La Guilde, the platform allows for contract creation, pre-departure training registration, mission progress tracking, and administrative management of the assignment process. It guarantees seamless, secure, and professional support before, during, and after the mission.
The Guild organizes pre-departure training sessions led by expert speakers to train volunteers in intercultural encounters, security, conflict resolution and health on mission.
In addition, volunteers who have recently returned from their missions are invited to a return session focused on job searching and leveraging their experience.
Because every mission is unique, La Guilde offers personalized support for host organizations and volunteers, from the initial planning stages until the volunteer's return. Each volunteer is assigned a dedicated La Guilde staff member and receives regular progress reviews throughout their mission.
This personalized support ensures the well-being and quality of the volunteers' experiences.
Furthermore, La Guilde's teams visit the field several times a year to meet with volunteers at their mission sites and with the partners who host them. These key moments allow for a better understanding of the projects being carried out and for an assessment of the mission's progress.
Each year, La Guilde sends hundreds of volunteers: a rich and dynamic network that constitutes a true strength. From their initial training until departure, volunteers have the opportunity to connect with other volunteers who will be having a similar experience on the other side of the world. Throughout the year, this network continues to thrive thanks to a monthly newsletter dedicated to volunteering: volunteer profiles, inspiring initiatives, international news, and feedback foster a sense of belonging and bring volunteers closer together, wherever they are on assignment. Webinars are also offered to provide spaces for discussion, advice, and collective reflection.
