ISHAKA 2250 is recruiting two volunteers for civic service. They will carry out field and office missions focused on raising awareness, educating and supporting beneficiaries around the issues of climate change, environmental protection and sustainable development.

Your Civic Service Mission

Goals

In direct contact with beneficiaries and involved in field actions with social impact, these volunteers will be integrated into a team of 15 staff members and will work in a supportive and stimulating environment, where professional and personal exchanges will nurture their civic awareness.

Actions

• Moderate discussions during events, youth panels, and intergenerational dialogues

• Support students in SDG clubs and beneficiaries in understanding key themes (climate, peace, equality, SDG education) and mobilize them in field actions: reforestation, agroforestry, ecological restoration of degraded sites and beach cleaning as well as the installation of ecological bins

• Accompany the ISHAKA 2250 teams during field missions, in strict compliance with the movement zones approved by France Diplomatie

• Assist the communications officer in planning, adapting and publishing project content on social media

• Contribute to socio-economic support initiatives and the promotion of the rights of women and girls in sites for internally displaced persons due to climate change

• All travel by volunteers will be accompanied by at least one staff member from ISHAKA 2250

Your environment

Mandatory training courses

Volunteers will undergo mandatory online training on Protection Against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PEAS).

Tutoring and support

A dedicated supervisor will support each volunteer on a daily basis to help them structure their project and complete their individual assessment.
 
 

The host organization, practical information

Ishaka 2250

La Guilde is an association based in Paris that supports international solidarity projects. This support takes the form of training programs, funding, and assistance through the placement of volunteers on International Solidarity Volunteer (VSI) and Civic Service placements. La Guilde works with around one hundred partners worldwide who host its volunteers. On this mission, you will therefore receive support from both La Guilde and the host organization.
