Volunteering at L'Arche Gdynia in Poland means being present daily with seven adults with disabilities in their living environment. It involves participating in their life and independence plans, and supporting the support team by living on-site with the residents, assistants, and other volunteers.

Description of the accommodation facility:

L'Arche is an international federation of 154 communities where people with and without intellectual disabilities live together and participate in building a more humane society. L'Arche International unites its 38 member countries across 5 continents, working together towards our shared mission.

 

Goals :

  • Promoting life projects for people with disabilities,
  • Sharing community life with residents, assistants and other volunteers,
  • Discovering new cultures,
  • Commitment, giving of one's time.

 

Missions:

Your volunteer role involves providing daily support to people with disabilities in their everyday activities: cleaning, preparing meals, and engaging in sports and creative activities. You will also facilitate their journeys between home and work (by car or bus), participate in organizing parties and celebrations, and support residents in their spiritual practices.

To make support and activities easier, Polish language lessons will be given.
