Context

Created in 2002 by the French NGO Agir pour le Cambodge (APLC), Sala Baï is a hotel school based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, near the archaeological site of Angkor.

Each year, the school welcomes and trains 150 highly disadvantaged young people free of charge in the hospitality and catering trades and sustainable agriculture. Due to their greater vulnerability, girls are given priority and make up 70% of the graduating classes.

Since the school was established 24 years ago, 2,200 students have been trained at the school, 981 of them have found employment, thus enabling 12,000 people to escape poverty.
